Leaders in the 21st Century must use social media for their advantage. During my residency at East Clayton I took every opportunity to promote the good things I observed in and around our building on Twitter. I recognize the influence of social media on the school and our community and the importance of controlling our story to promote a positive culture. I used my tweets to set an example for others to follow and to tell their story through social media. Using my tweets, I was able to connect East Clayton with authors, vendors and stakeholders. I was able to give teachers the much needed attention to the hard work they do in their classrooms.
